CoMED Health (Pty) Ltd. was formed in 2009 as a holding company for a number of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM’s) companies and brands, including Natura Laboratory and Bioter Health. CoMed has a staff of more than 170 people based at its state-of-the-art CAM’s production facility in Waltloo, Pretoria.

About Natura Laboratory:

Natura Laboratory is the number one leading brand in homoeopathy and herbals in South Africa and was founded more than 45 years ago. It comprises of two divisions – Natura Retail, offering 150 retail products, and Natura Professional, providing 500 professional division products and direct sales to more than 400 practitioners.

Dr Michael Levien, founder of Natura Laboratories, was inspired to become a homoeopath through his own experience of overcoming life-threatening disease. He enrolled with Lindlahr College to formally study Homoeopathy, Osteopathy and Naturopathy and was one of the top students.

Dr Levien started his own practice in 1960 and began to build his professional reputation. As his colleagues began to call on him for advice in difficult cases, Dr Levien recognised that he was able to extend his vision for healing by serving the need for the manufacturing and distributing of good quality CAM's.

Since 1966, Natura Laboratory has been manufacturing and distributing homoeopathic and phytotherapeutic medicines in South Africa.

About Bioter Health:

Bioter Health was acquired in 2010 and offers 50 products supplied to most major CAM’s retailers. Under the Bioter Health portfolio there are some exciting brands including URI-Kleer and Brain Child.
