What are essential fatty acids?
The term “essential fatty acids” refers to two fatty acids (linoleic acid or omega-6 and linolenic acid or omega-3) which our bodies cannot synthesize and thus, must be consumed in the diet or supplied in the form of supplementation.

Why are essential fatty acids so important?
The essential fatty acids are needed for the production of compounds known as eicosanoids – which help regulate blood-clotting, blood pressure, heart rate, immune response and a wide variety of other biological processes.

Flaxseed oil is unique in that it supplies Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids. What is even better is that it supplies 57% Omega 3 essential fatty acids and 17% Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
